For over four decades Gord’s professional life as a senior executive has focused on education, government and church work. He has served as a senior cabinet minister in AB (Education) and SK (Social Services), assistant deputy minister, chair of the Calgary Board of Education, college president, school principal, executive pastor at two of AB’s largest churches, and more recently as a management consultant specializing in board governance, capital development, fund-raising and strategic planning. His professional mantra is "Creating Successful Futures and Leading People for Results."
Gord has lived in Calgary for the past 22 years and has been a Corpath member since the beginning of Corpath almost twenty years ago. He was a member of the city’s Imagine Calgary Steering Committee. Gord is an advocate for a number of community and faith-based charitable causes and is actively involved in his local church. He is a "retired biker" who enjoys fitness, golf, the arts, reading, sports, Hawaii, and all things political. After the evening meal you will frequently find him playing Quiddler with his wife Joy, a retired Citizenship Court Judge. They have two adult sons and three grandchildren, and each year enjoy a family vacation in the Okanagan. His personal mantra is "live slow, love well, die happy."
