Talk to any organizational leader who is hitting the ball out of the park.  Watch interviews with business icons whose charts are always up and to the right.  Devour the leading business authors.  Interview the brightest up-and-coming entrepreneurs.

Probe them for keys to winning and ask about the one resource that was most pivotal to their achievement.

They will likely attribute their business success to one or more of the following:

  • It was all about the team they hired and the board they recruited.
  • It wouldn’t have happened without the latest in technological innovation.
  • It was about following gut instincts based on years of business acumen.
  • It was the result of trusted partners who brought their expertise to the table.
  • It was about using the right data and tools to discern trends and identify opportunities.
  • It was a function of intangible qualities: vision, passion, and courage.
  • It was risk-averse investors who made it all possible.
  • It was inside knowledge gleaned from thought leaders and business schools.
  • It was about the serendipity of the moment, being in the right place at the right time.
  • It never would have happened without a devoted business coach.

Now that’s an impressive list of resources.

But for Corpath members, the most important business resource is none of the above.

There is one resource missing from this list of business essentials, and it’s the resource we can least afford to ignore.  Here’s why.

What if it were possible to sit down each day and take counsel from a business and life coach who fully understood you and your business; who wrote the book on doing life; who was always present for engaging conversations; whose knowledge and wisdom were limitless, and who always had your best intentions at heart?  And who never sends an invoice!

Who wouldn’t jump at a Dream Resource like that!  The good news for each of us as Corpath members is that this Dream Resource is very real, very present and very accessible.

Our Dream Resource is the greatest leader who ever lived.  His name is Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God, the Lord himself!  As remarkable and stunning as it is, Christ actually offers to be our personal, supernatural resource.

Didn’t the Apostle Paul say,

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”  (Philippians 4:13)

“His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness.” (2 Peter 1:3-4)

“In Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. (Colossians 2:3)

These truths should be game-changers for each one of us as Corpath leaders and entrepreneurs.

If God is familiar with every intimate detail of our lives (Psalm 139:3), then surely our small and large business issues are on his radar screen.

So yes…consult the leading entrepreneurial thinkers.  Read the latest business article.  Watch the latest TED talk on leadership.  Bring in the most experienced investment partner.

But before and after all these human strategies have been considered, let’s be careful to invite our Dream Resource into the boardroom of our personal worlds, and request his help as we seek to pursue excellence in business, in life, and in spirit.  For doesn’t God’s Word say,

“Cast all your care upon him, because he cares for you.”  (1 Peter 5:7)

If Christ has all the resources for life and wisdom in decision-making…and if he is united to our spirit and therefore daily present…and if he invites us to ask him for whatever we need in keeping with his good purposes for us…

Well then, our go-forward is clear.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.

In all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your paths.”  (Proverbs 3:5-6)

What more encouraging news could there be for Corpath leaders!

Blessings as we consult our living Dream Resource throughout this week,

Gord
