End of Corpath Year

This edition of Monday Meditations will be the final for this Corpath season. Monday Meditations will resume again in September 2022.

1 Corinthians 12 & 13

I have to say, I really appreciate the MISSION of Corpath as presented on the website, at https://www.corpath.ca/vision-mission.

It states, “We are Christian leaders passionate about pursuing excellence in business, in life and in spirit, and impacting our world for God’s glory.”

Q: Before reading any further, what does this mission statement mean to you?

During my first 10 months leading the Corpath organization, I have focussed on that mission statement and challenged myself to deeply understand what it means to me.

Here are some of my thoughts…

Pursuing excellence is not to be considered the same as the drive for perfection. Excellence and perfection are two totally different concepts. In my thinking, excellence is something that is purely objective. It means something different to each one of us. What is excellent for you may not be considered excellent for me, and vice versa. Our measurement of what is excellent is rooted in the sense of what has high value and quality.

For me, as a Corpath member, pursuing excellence always starts with my faith perspective. It begins with my acceptance of Jesus Christ, my desire to live a life pleasing to God, and allowing my daily life to be led by the Holy Spirit.  Anything outside of that can never be excellent.

Pursuing excellence in business life and spirit means that I have yielded my goals, plans and desires to the teachings and admonitions of the Christian faith.  I believe the best way I can express this openly is to use my unique God-given talents and gifts to show love to others, and my backpack of talents and gifts is different from anyone else’s.

In 1 Corinthians 12:29-31, Paul says, “Are we all apostles? Are we all prophets? Are we all teachers? Do we all have the power to do miracles? Do we all have the gift of healing? Do we all have the ability to speak in unknown languages? Do we all have the ability to interpret unknown languages? Of course not! So, you should earnestly desire the most helpful gifts.”

But now let me show you a way of life that is best of all.”

Then, immediately following this passage, he goes on to define what love is and how to show it to others. He gives love the highest priority, even over faith and hope. Take a moment and read 1 Corinthians 13 from the perspective of how we can show love as we pursue excellence in all areas of our lives.

Q: What unique God-given talents or gifts do you have that can be used to express love in your business, life and spiritual pursuits?

Over the past 10 months, Monday Meditations has covered many different topics related to the Corpath mission statement.

Prayer:

My heavenly Father, I thank You for bringing me to Corpath. I thank You for the connection I have to other members in my forum group and the impact they have made on my life. I pray that You would always lead me to pursue excellence in all areas of my life. Give me the courage to show love in all ways daily. Walk with me. Speak to me. Lead me in all paths of righteousness for Your sake. Amen.

Blessings always and all-ways,
