Let’s not forget EASTER.

Like many of you, I have been watching and waiting for the Easter event over the past few weeks.  The topic has been at the fore every weekend at my church.  The music, themes, and message have all pointed to the “coming resurrection celebration” that is one of the most significant events in the Christian calendar.
I actually look forward to the days of lent that lead us to the hope in Christ as the eternal saviour who conquered death once and for all.  I also have observed that year after year, it seems the value of “the resurrection” has less and less impact on the world at large.  Why is that?

If we aren’t careful, we can also take on the posture of Easter being a routine part of our calendar and become less sensitive about what this holiday represents.  In the hustle and bustle of modern life the profound meaning of Easter can sometimes get overshadowed.

I want to suggest to you three crucial aspects of celebrating Easter from a Christian perspective that many people likely overlook.

Easter is about redemption.
It's a reminder of the incredible sacrifice Jesus made on the cross to save us from our sins. As business leaders, we often navigate challenges and setbacks, but Easter reminds us that through Christ, we have been redeemed and given a new life.

As Romans 6:4 beautifully puts it, "We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life."

Easter signifies hope.
The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the ultimate symbol of hope for humanity. It's a reminder that no matter how dark our circumstances may seem, there is always hope in Christ.

In 1 Peter 1:3, it says, "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead."

Easter is a celebration of victory over death.
Jesus' resurrection conquered death once and for all, offering us the promise of eternal life with Him. This victory empowers us to live boldly and fearlessly, knowing that death has no hold on us.

As 1 Corinthians 15:55-57 proclaims, "Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."

Q: What does Easter mean to you?  What is it’s significance?  Do your actions convey the message of it’s importance?

I wonder if it’s possible to carry the Easter-feeling with us all year long.  What would happen if we decided to live and act with the sense of victory that Christ’s resurrection freely gives us?

I encourage you to integrate these truths into your daily life and leadership. Let redemption, hope, and victory inform your decisions, interactions, and perspective. Start each day with gratitude for the gift of salvation and the hope we have in Christ. Seek opportunities to share this hope with others, both in your business dealings and personal relationships.

My Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of Easter and the profound truths it holds for us as Christians. Help us to always remember the significance of redemption, hope, and victory that Easter represents. May these truths shape our lives, leadership, and interactions with others. Give us the strength to carry the Easter feeling in our hearts all year long and to be beacons of your light in the world.

In Jesus' name, amen.
